The flying association

Aeroclub Maritime members and aircraft at the home base

In the recent past, our association provided instruction for Navy personnel. That instruction task no longer exists, but Aeroclub Maritime still maintains warm ties with defence and with the civil authorities at De Kooy. Aeroclub Maritime is now based at Lelystad Airport. Our flying club is a real club, which means that, in addition to flying together, members are expected to contribute a certain amount of hands-on activity. Examples include moving aircraft in and out of the hangar, carrying out daily inspections, cleaning windscreens, refuelling, occasionally helping clean the aircraft and assisting one another with flight and navigation preparation.

Why Aeroclub Maritime?

Aeroclub Maritime combines flight training with the character of an active flying club. You can follow your PPL or LAPL training with us from Lelystad Airport, guided by our recognised DTO and using modern Aquila A210 training aircraft. Because you become part of an association, the contact does not stop after your licence: members fly together, share experience and help each other with preparation, planning and safe flying.

For student pilots, that club environment is valuable. You learn not only the training syllabus and aircraft handling, but also how other pilots prepare flights, make decisions and build experience. That makes Aeroclub Maritime interesting for anyone who wants to learn to fly seriously and stay active within a committed flying club afterwards.

Naturally, various activities are organised by and for members: day trips to airfields at home and abroad, navigation flights and open days. We also organise themed evenings where specialists explain subjects related to flying. The social side is just as typical of a club. Meetings in the clubhouse with a view of the runway are always enjoyable, and the club rooms are daily meeting places for members.

There is never a shortage of flying stories.
